Really welcome My Learning Pool, a new product from the people at Learning Pool announced here (LP) and here (Dave Briggs) which offers high quality and affordable on-line learning modules to small organisations and even individuals in the sector.
I do like the personal nature of face to face training, but can see that in the current economic climate the increasing role of online (or e-learning) has to now be a sensible way forward.
My Learning Pool has been written with voluntary and community sector (Civil Society) organisations in mind and enables you to learn at your own pace, not have to incur the cost or time of travel to access training sessions and is being offered at price that no one can complain about. You can print completion certificates and there is a discussion forum for each module giving you chance to talk about the content and what you’ve learnt with others who have used it.
Oh … and you don’t have to put up with the sometimes ‘questionable’ lunches at training venues as you can eat your own sandwiches as you learn!
There are just over 20 modules currently in the ‘pool’ with more promised soon. My Learning Pool is priced at just £25 per person for a whole year.
This seems ideal for small organisation or for a membership organisation (such as a CVS) to purchase for their local groups. It’s also possible to subscribe as an individual - ideal if you want to brush up on your interview or CV skills or learn all about Social Media.
