This article from Rob Dyson on the Guardian Voluntary Sector Network blog links together a couple of recent ‘charity top 10’ lists which predictably have those with the largest national marketing spend or the greatest number of donors at the top.

Rather than these, I’m always interested to hear about the difference small local organisations (for example Lost Chord or Preston FM)  who may relieve little or no funding and only have a handful of Twitter followers , but who are making an equally important local impact, building and changing their communities for the better.
